Liberal candidate for Deakin, Mr Phil Barresi and the Coalition’s spokesman on Disabilities, Senator Mitch Fifield this week visited Australian disability enterprise Nadrasca to meet and chat with workers.
Nadrasca offers a range of services and employs over 350 people with a disability and approximately 150 permanent, part-time and casual staff. It also provides vocational training courses for people with disabilities.
“Nadrasca is a great organisation that enriches the lives of people with disabilities by offering them a range of employment and training opportunities,” Senator Fifield said.
“It gives people with disabilities the chance to realise their potential, acquire new skills and gain independence.”
Mr Barresi said: “By providing employment and training opportunities to people with disabilities, Nadrasca offers a brighter future for some of our most vulnerable citizens in the community.
“Employment and vocational training courses can build confidence and open up new opportunities for people with disabilities.”
Nadrasca is a not-for-profit organisation that offers services in outsourced assembly and packing, commercial printing and timber products fabrication.
It also offers day programs and activities for people with significant disabilities and provides 24 hour care and independent living as well as recreational and holiday programs.
