Mr Nihal Gupta has indicated his desire to step down from his position as Chairman of the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Board for personal family reasons.
Mr Gupta was appointed Chairman on 17 October 2014 and brought to the role his years of international business and management experience particularly in the technology and consumer electronics sectors.
The Government thanks Mr Gupta for his service to SBS and commitment to a multicultural Australia.
The process to appoint a new Chairman will begin shortly in accordance with legislative requirements under the Special Broadcasting Services Act 1991.
The Deputy Chairman, Dr Bulent Hass Dellal OAM, will serve as Acting Chairman.
