Screen Australia Board appointments

The Turnbull Government has appointed Ms Claudia Karvan, Mr Richard King and Mr Michael Hawkins to the Screen Australia Board for three year terms.
The appointees bring a range of valuable experience and expertise to the Board, strengthening Screen Australia’s ability to support and promote the development of a creative, innovative and commercially-sustainable Australian screen production industry.
Ms Claudia Karvan has previously served one term as a board member and brings valuable expertise in the Australian screen industry and experience in all facets of production.
She is an acclaimed actor, producer and director with Rhubarb Rhubarb Productions Pty Ltd. She recently produced Doctor Doctor for Channel Nine and appeared in Jack Irish on the ABC.
Mr Richard King brings extensive corporate and government relations experience and expertise in tax policy and federal–state relations.
He has held a number of corporate and senior advisory roles to government, and is currently Managing Partner of GRACosway Melbourne, a specialist consulting firm.
Mr Hawkins has considerable screen industry experience and is currently the Executive Director of the National Association of Cinema Operators, Chair of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards and the Brisbane Asia Pacific Film Festival and a Director of Creative Content Australia. He was formerly on the Screen Queensland Board.
He is a solicitor with an extensive legal professional background and was previously Chief Executive Officer, Counsel and Director of Australian Multiplex Cinemas Ltd.
