The Turnbull Government has reappointed Ms Dorothy West and Mr William Lenehan as part-time non-executive Directors to the Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) Board for five year terms and will open the independent nomination panel process for a vacancy on the SBS board and the ABC board.
Ms West has brought extensive experience in media and has played a key role in the development of Indigenous media nationally.
Mr Lenehan will continue to bring considerable business foresight and many years of experience in Australia’s commercial television industry.
The Government also thanks Mr Simon Mordant AM for his service as a non-executive director on the ABC Board at the conclusion of his five year term.
Mr Mordant oversaw the Corporation’s financial performance and efficiency as the Chair of the Finance Committee and helped oversee decisions on major transmission contracts, the future of ABC Retail, implementation of significant technology projects and the selection of a new Managing Director. In addition Mr Mordant chaired the comprehensive Review of ABC Arts on behalf of the Board.
An independent Nomination Panel process has been initiated to fill the vacancies on the boards of the public broadcasters.
