The Turnbull Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Michelle Groves as a part-time Member of the Copyright Tribunal of Australia for a period of five years commencing on 16 April 2018.
Ms Groves is a senior corporate legal counsel with a strong background in intellectual property law, including copyright law, and will bring valuable legal expertise and industry knowledge to the Copyright Tribunal’s work.
The Copyright Tribunal is a specialist Commonwealth tribunal that principally hears disputes relating to the fixing of copyright royalties and remuneration payable to collecting societies under licences to use copyright material.
Non-judicial members provide specialist expertise to assist the Copyright Tribunal in determining copyright royalty and licensing disputes.
The Government would like to thank the outgoing member, Professor John McMillan AO, for his service to the Copyright Tribunal.
