The Australian Government welcomes the appointment of James Taylor as the Managing Director of the Special Broadcasting Service. Mr Taylor has been appointed by the SBS Board and will replace Michael Ebeid AM who has served in the role since June 2011.
Mr Taylor has been acting CEO since Mr Ebeid’s departure on 1 October and will take on the role substantively from today.
Mr Taylor has been an integral part of the SBS since 2012, working as both the Chief Financial Officer and the head of corporate finance, helping to manage the organisation’s balance sheet in a competitive media landscape.
The Government congratulates Mr Taylor and looks forward to working with him in his new role.
On behalf of the Government, Minister for Communications and the Arts, Mitch Fifield, also paid tribute to Mr Ebeid for his dedicated service and stewardship of the organisation during a time of tremendous change in the media.
