$2.39 MILLION IN CAPITAL GRANTS FUNDING FOR
ST GERARD’S PRIMARY SCHOOL
St Gerard’s Primary School will soon have improved general learning areas and student amenities after being named a recipient of a $2.39 Million Australian Government grant.
The grant, awarded as part of the Capital Grants Programme (CGP), will go towards a project to Demolish and construct more flexible general learning areas.
Senator for Victoria, the Hon Mitch Fifield congratulated St Gerard’s Primary School on receiving the grant.
“These funds will ensure students at St Gerard’s have the infrastructure necessary to help them get the most out of their time at school,” Senator Fifield said.
“While buildings alone do not make a school, St Gerard’s students will benefit when these enhanced facilities are complete.”
Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, said the CGP provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient resources.
“The Australian Government is committed to improving the quality of our school education and ensuring students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world,” Senator Ryan said.
“The Government believes in an education system that puts students first. A quality education gives young people the opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to our nation.”
