$500,000 for Cornish College
Cornish College will soon have a new classroom block after being named a recipient of a $500,000 Australian Government grant.
The grant, awarded as part of the Capital Grants Programme (CGP), will go towards a project to construct a new classroom block
Senator for Victoria, the Hon Mitch Fifield congratulated Cornish College on receiving the grant.
“These funds will ensure students at Cornish College have the infrastructure necessary to help them get the most out of their time at school,” Senator Fifield said.
“While buildings alone do not make a school, Cornish College students will benefit when these enhanced facilities are complete.”
Senator the Hon Scott Ryan, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, said the CGP provides funding for non-government schools to improve capital infrastructure where they otherwise may not have access to sufficient resources.
“The Australian Government is committed to improving the quality of our school education and ensuring students are equipped with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world,” Senator Ryan said.
“The Government believes in an education system that puts students first. A quality education gives young people the opportunity to achieve personal success and contribute to our nation.”
