Subject: Tony Abbott
JOURNALIST:
Minister, can I ask you about Tony Abbott’s renomination for the seat of Warringah?
FIFIELD:
Tony Abbott’s public career has been marked by service to the community. He indicated that he wanted to reflect on his future. He’s decided to put himself forward as the Member for Warringah. And I think it’s important that all of us in public life recognise that the first and highest calling that any of us have is that of being a parliamentarian.
JOURNALIST:
Do you think he’ll be a Kevin Rudd-style character? Do you think he’ll destabilise?
FIFIELD:
Tony Abbott is a positive individual. He wants to make a difference. And I think that’s what he’ll set about doing.
