During Mr Scott’s time at the helm, the ABC has evolved in a market defined by rapidly-changing technologies and consumer behaviour.
Under Mr Scott’s leadership, the ABC has undergone a significant transformation to serve Australian audiences in the digital age, with expansion in its services and reach across a diverse array of platforms, including 4 television channels, 4 national and 56 local radio services, 5 digital-only radio channels and a range of online and mobile services.
Specific initiatives included the creation of ABC3, a digital TV channel for children, ABC News 24, the introduction of iview and the expansion of Australian television drama and online news services.
A decade leading the national broadcaster is a significant achievement.
